Nat Geo Maps Newsletter - Spring Travel

  CALIFORNIA'S SIERRA NEVADA
Many got their first glimpse of this region as Humphrey Bogart dodged the cops in 1941's High Sierra. Today, it's California's mountain playground, with a wealth of national parks, forests, and wilderness areas. With the addition of five Trails Illustrated maps this year, we'll have contiguous coverage from Sequoia to Tahoe. The first title, Mammoth Lakes–Mono Divide, is available now.

The most detailed nationwide set of topographic maps is the USGS 1:24,000 scale series. We've scanned all 55,000 maps and seamed them together. You can buy these digital versions in state sets. With TOPO!, you can customize and print great maps for your outdoor pursuits and transfer waypoint and route data with your handheld GPS receiver. Later this spring, we'll introduce a free National Recreation Database with thousands of trails and other data to download to your maps.

Find TOPO! at your favorite outdoor specialty retailer, or at the National Geographic online store with FREE shipping.
